ABOUT THE ROLE:
As our Counter Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in amplifying Gisou’s presence in de Bijenkorf, a luxury, heritage Amsterdam department store. This is more than a retail job - it's a brand-building opportunity. You’ll be the face of Gisou on the shop floor, inspiring customers with your deep knowledge of haircare, nurturing a high-performing team, and cultivating a strong partnership within the department store and HQ.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week), with weekend work as part of the regular schedule.
You’ll bring the Gisou Honey Glow to life, every single day through warm service, expert advice, and heartfelt care.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Brand Leadership & Counter Excellence:
Lead the day-to-day management of the Gisou counter at de Bijenkorf.
Deliver a best-in-class brand experience, embodying Gisou’s values and storytelling with every interaction.
Be the go-to expert on all things Gisou: from product knowledge to heritage, ingredients, and usage.
Ensure the counter is visually merchandised to brand standards and always looking its glowing best.
Team Building & Leadership:
Recruit, train, and lead a small but mighty team of Beauty Advisors.
Motivate and coach the team to meet and exceed sales targets and KPIs.
Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-energy working environment.
Lead by example with exceptional customer service, deep product knowledge, and a proactive mindset.
Create the rota for the team.
Retailer Relationship & Partnership:
Build and maintain a strong, collaborative relationship with the store's management and beauty teams.
Partner with the Gisou HQ team to plan and execute in-store events, animations, and activations.
Monitor inventory levels and manage stock replenishment to avoid sell-outs or overstock.
Sales Performance & Insights:
Track daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance, reporting insights and opportunities to HQ.
Use data and customer feedback to drive performance, engagement, and loyalty.
Champion operational excellence and ensure compliance with all retail standards and guidelines.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Proven experience as a Counter Manager or Senior Beauty Advisor, ideally in haircare or prestige beauty.
Passionate about haircare, with a natural ability to educate and inspire customers.
A true people leader, motivating, coaching, and developing high-performing teams.
Commercially savvy with strong sales acumen and a goal-oriented mindset.
Highly organized with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Flexibility to work a 40-hour week, including weekends and retail trading hours.
