Gisou is born out of a passion for bees, haircare and natural beauty. Based on a six-generation beekeeping heritage, each Gisou product is inspired by and made with the finest, sustainably sourced ingredients from our very own Mirsalehi Bee Garden. With this method, our founder Negin and her father continue the family tradition of beekeeping. Our hair care and complexion products harness the transformative benefits of Mirsalehi Honey and rich botanical sources, selected to enhance ones natural beauty.

We are committed to a bee-friendly & sustainable production method that puts the Mirsalehi Honey Bees first, not only for the sake of the bees, but the greater ecosystem as well. In the upcoming years, we intend to continue to develop high-quality honey infused beauty products as we develop a globally renowned label and raise awareness about the importance of a healthy bee population.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As our Packaging Manager, the role is crucial in designing and optimizing packaging solutions that align with Gisou’s commitment to sustainability, aesthetic excellence, and premium quality. As a Packaging Engineer, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our packaging not only protects our products but also reflects our brand’s values and resonates with our customers.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Development:

• Develop innovative, on brand, best-in-class bespoke packaging solutions  for new and existing products based on creative renders, ensuring they align with Gisou's brand, environmental goals and cost targets.
• Create detailed specifications and technical drawings for primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging components.
• Manage the full packaging development process, from initial briefs to production trials and successful launches. 

Project Management:

• Lead packaging projects from concept to execution, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
• Responsible for ensuring the smooth ordering of packaging, working with Supply Chain to meet all tooling and pack PO deadlines.
• Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and manufacturers to manage prototypes and production.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with Product Development, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams to integrate packaging solutions into the product lifecycle.
• Develop strategic relationships with external packaging suppliers to implement viable packaging solutions for all launches.

Material Selection:

• Identify and evaluate materials to ensure functionality, durability, and alignment with sustainability objectives.
• Collaborate with suppliers to source materials that meet technical and environmental standards.

Testing & Optimization:

• Conduct packaging performance testing to ensure quality, safety, and compatibility with our products.
• Continuously optimize packaging designs to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize environmental impact.

Compliance & Standards:

• Ensure all packaging meets regulatory requirements, industry standards, and Gisou’s quality benchmarks.
• Stay updated on packaging trends, innovations, and environmental regulations.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• 5+ years of experience in packaging design and engineering, preferably within beauty, cosmetics, or FMCG industries.
• Preferably a degree in pack development or engineering
• Strong knowledge of sustainable packaging materials, manufacturing processes, and industry regulations.
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven track record of delivering packaging innovation to market.
• Collaborative mindset with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail, hands on approach, entrepreneurial and “can-do” mentality.
